Pool Fences and Installation in Maryland

In the humid and hot summers of Maryland, families need to take a break from the heat. And you aren’t always going to want to drive to the beach. Who wants to sit in traffic during the summer? A pool is a great alternative to the beach for cooling off in the summer. During the past two years, many families have opted to be a little more self-reliant with their recreational time – there has been a huge spike in purchases of cars, boats, and, of course, pools.

However, owning a pool is a huge responsibility, one that a parent or homeowner should not take lightly.  Every pool owner should have some basic safety training, a first aid kit, pool alarms, and floatation devices. Perhaps most importantly, each pool should have a Life Saver Pool Fence.

As a pool owner in the state of Maryland, there are some pool fence requirements that you need to be in compliance with:

  • For any pool deeper than two feet, a fence of at least four feet must be erected around the pool
  • The space in the fence should not exceed four inches
  • All pools must have a self-latching gate

Why Install A Life Saver Pool Fence

There are many reasons to install a Life Saver Pool Fence. It really can be one of the best decisions you make for your backyard. A Life Saver mesh pool fence will protect an unsupervised pool, which can be a serious threat to young children and pets.

Children and pets can easily wander into an unsupervised pool and potentially drown. In addition to increasing the safety of your pool and backyard, the Life Saver Pool Fence is also among the best in terms of quality. Let’s take a closer look at what sets the Life Saver Pool Fence from the rest of the industry.

Life Saver Pool Fences are held up by some of the strongest poles available on the market: the High-Performance Solid Pole.  The industry standard pole only has one layer of support in the pole.  The High-Performance Solid Pole, on the other hand, is reinforced with three layers of support.  That’s right – that’s triple the support of the industry standard!  In addition, the pole offers omni-directional support – so it can bend and flex with high winds or any turbulent weather conditions.

Next up is the mesh that holds our poles together: our Textilene Mesh.  Like our poles, we hold our mesh to an equally high standard.  We use a basket weave, which provides the highest tension and strength possible.  The mesh is also quite expensive to manufacture – but that is okay.  We do not want to get stingy with our materials; only the best for our customers.  Our mesh is also durable enough to withstand whipping winds and torrential rain, which is thanks to the dual-directional makeup of the mesh.

Perhaps the most important part of the gate is the part that gets the most use.  You guessed it: the gate.  You want to make sure that you have a gate that can withstand a lot of use.  So we can offer you two different options: the Arched Gate or the Double Truss Rod Gate.  In terms of durability and strength, the two are equal and there is simply no equal to them in the pool gate market.  These gates use 30% more aluminum than the industry standard, which once again puts the Life Saver Pool Fence head and shoulders above the competition.  Both gates are made of stainless steel, so they can withstand the elements.  The only difference lies in the look and style of the gates.  So, you will want to take a look at our product brochure to get a better idea of what the gates look like.

We understand that you do not want a pool fence to be an eye sore. You want to maintain the aesthetic appeal of your backyard.  You do not need to worry about that.  Our expert pool fence technicians will work with you to help design a pool fence that will look nice but will also be safe.  Our pool fence comes in a variety of colors, any of which will certainly suit the style of your backyard.  Our fences are backed by a 100-year warranty and all of our fences and materials are manufactured right here in the USA.

Swimming pools in Maryland must adhere to state regulations regarding pool fence barriers. Maryland regulations state that a swimming pool must be enclosed by a barrier that is at least 5 feet above the ground and has a maximum vertical clearance from the bottom of the barrier of 4 inches. The fence also must not have any openings that will allow the passage of a sphere 4 inches in diameter. The barrier access gate should be located near the shallow end of a pool, and have a latch release located at least 54 inches from grade level that is lockable. The gate must open away from the pool or spa and be self-closing and self-latching.
