A swimming pool must be completely enclosed by a wall, fence, or other protective enclosure that is at least 4 feet tall. It must not provide any footing for climbing, and should be designed to prevent passage through or under the enclosure. The swimming pool enclosure must have an entrance door or gate that is equipped with a self-closer, a latch, and a lock, and the entrance for bathers must lead to the shallowest area of the swimming pool. The enclosure must be kept closed at all times, and locked when the swimming pool and deck is not in use.
