In the United States, drowning claims far too many lives. At Life Saver Pool Fence, we are deeply committed to promoting water safety. To this end, we’ve been given special permission from USA Swimming to share their comprehensive drowning stats for September 2018.

As you may have noticed, there does appear to be a drop in incidents between 2017 and 2018. That's good, but it doesn't necessarily indicate a trend yet. In truth, the U.S. drowning stats for September 2018 don't show anything particularly out of the ordinary. That's even taking into account the widespread flooding that occurred during the month.

Where Do These Stats Come From?

As we mentioned earlier, these U.S. drowning stats for September have been collected by USA Swimming. This organization is the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States. It is an extension of the United States Olympic Committee. In fact, the organization is charged with selecting the United States Olympic Swimming team and any other swimming teams that officially represent the nation.

Above all else, USA Swimming sets the rules for competitive swimming in the United States. It employs coaches and helps to promote safe swimming.
